We did not set out to build a platform. We watched someone we knew get passed over as if three decades of experience was a liability. So, we built the place that should have existed.
In 2020, our founder watched a member of his own family lose the job he had held for over a decade. Late fifties. Three decades in UI and UX design. The pandemic took the role, and a long pause followed.
What came next was not really a job search. It was being passed over. Applications disappeared. Recruiters skipped past thirty years of experience to find someone half the age. The platforms built for hiring were not built for him.
The freelance marketplaces. The gig sites. The general job boards. None of them were built for someone who had led teams and shipped products for thirty years. They were built for younger contractors competing on hourly price.
What began as an inspiration for one side of the market evolved into something bigger.
